The Wall Street Journal 's What's News is a short form news app.  Intended to give it's readers a brief synopsis of the day's business news, What's News highlights the most important news and acts as a jumping off point to more in-depth coverage on WSJ.com

My role as Product Manager had me working hand in hand with the staff of the Journal to define the scope of the MVP, provide regular demos of new features, and support the application once it was launched.

It's one of the products I am most proud of and is part of my daily news routine.  Please consider trying it yourself.

At Crisp Media I was responsible for supporting new ad formats as part of our Engage ad creation platform. The platform allowed for novice users to create rich HTML-5 ad units in a matter of seconds, or for the more experienced user, provided a comprehensive toolbox for creating custom ads.

In the case of the Toyota Camry campaign, we expanded the platform to include support for location services, as well as integration of google maps and yelp.  Using these pieces in tandem the creative was able to allow users to see where they would be able to go on a road trip, and put together an itinerary once at their destination.

It was my responsibility to define what these new components would be, as well as oversee their development, perform UAT and ensure interoperability with all the existing components.  Once rolled out, it was also encumbent upon me to evangilize these new offerings to our users.

Promise for Education was a novel approach to scholarship fundraising.  Instead of the traditional cold calling, the University of California was interested in doing something more engaging with their community.  Thus the idea was born to create a crowdfunding campaign that would tap into the far-reaching UC alumni network.

My task was to create a platform what would allow individual UC members to create their own promises, i.e. pledges to do something if their donation goal was met.  In addition to the platform itself I was tasked with developing tools that would empower these users to promote their promises, as well as develop a website that would evolve as the fundraising progressed.

My work involved working with stakeholders within the UC system to understand their needs, creating a roadmap of how the product would be completed, and shepherding all development.

Working together we were able to raise more than $1 million - an overwhelming success!
